Night of the Running Dead 5K

Good morning, Greensole Runners!

How are your runs going?

Let us know; we want to hear all about them! Everyone here loves to talk running, so feel free to comment and share!

OK, now where were we?

Oh, yes, the 7 "not so rules" of running.

So far we have:
1. Run WARM (aka warm up)

Hmm...

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you will all have to wait until tomorrow for number 2.

Sad? We are too.

But, we have something a lot of fun to talk about! So, we are going to take a short break to talk about one of our recent events!

The Night Of the Running Dead 5k!

So, a little background on this race. It is a 5k (3.1 miles) that benefits the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and it is zombie apocalypse themed! How Cool Right?

So, here is how it goes down. Anyone who wants to run as a human starts first with a 2 min head start, and then anyone who wants to race as a zombie chases them down. (Don't worry, there is no touching/biting/hurting of racers, only lots of cool costumes and zombie noises) So, it is literally zombies chasing humans!

It was a blast! ...And Greensole Running was there to represent!

What a beautiful evening for a race!

So, the evening started off with race check-in and some Halloween store shenanigans...

Then some zombie make-up. (Note the Greensole Running Shoes! Oh, and the Halloween Half shirt.)

The obligatory shoe pics of Greensole runners!

And then the main event! The Night of the Running Dead 5K. Let's say it sure did start with a bang!

And we were off!

And this was truly a FUN race with lots of in-race zombie action and fun going on! (Here is a lovely shot of zombie me during the race.)

In the end, it was a great night and great event! We love our Greensole Runners who were out supporting and hope to see all of you and more at the Provo Halloween Half Marathon!

Oh, and of course, no race would be complete without the post-race ice cream! (Today's flavor was a giant Oreo ice cream sandwich!)

Again! This was so much fun! Thanks to all the racers last night! And everyone else, look what an awesome party running is! Come party with us!
